When asked why she wrote lyrics about women, she said \"...women bring the people....\"These words stuck with me. Having and raising babies is work, it's labor that is not included in the economic statistics, in the gross national product, in the growth measurements of the economy. It is labor that does not count and women who have babies are discounted as workers, as laborers who contribute to the economy, and as having full worth as a citizen of the society. They do the work that provides the workers.
