From the Artist

My landscapes are about time and change and are symbolic of conflict. These images reflect a history. They involve geometric, vaguely architectural forms. Things have been built and events have occurred in these places but now the abandoned structures are the only sign of human presence. I feel an uncomfortable sense of mystery in these spaces even though I created these pictures.

There are unanswered questions, and at the same time there is beauty. I think it's the combination of something that is simultaneously beautiful and uncomfortable that holds my interest. Drawing is a significant part of this work. For many years I've been interested in form and space, not as academic realism, but not abstraction either.
