From the Artist
I have traveled on two different trips throughout Vietnam. The colors, the energy, and memories of Asia have influenced this print. Marcel Duchamp's Large Glass[at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and its exploration of] reproduction, sexual energy, [and] the creation of the life force are factors in the print. There is a duality at work with experiencing different cultures coming to terms with the excitement and energy of many nations hence to the Duchampian play "Polli Nation".
—From Brandywine Workshop and Archives records
Dichotomy fires my intuitive impulses, allowing them to surface and meet head on in an everchanging conflict between the emotional and the cerebral.
