This print, like Playtime #1, is a response to the then ever-increasing drug trafficking and criminal activity that was happening in my neighborhood in the late 1980s and early '90s, mostly involving crack cocaine.
Playtime #2refers to the intense changes that occurred in what used to be very common neighborhood activities—how people in the neighborhood who used to enjoy just sitting on their front porches went indoors and kept indoors and children no longer played outside in the streets in front of their homes, or on their block. All that disappeared...
