From the Artist
Brandywine has been for me a pleasant, rewarding, unforgettable introduction to printmaking. This experience has been an eye opener I know will lead to new direction in my work; thank you Brandywine! This print was a collaborated learning experience between me and two master printers, without whose assistance would have been difficult, which I appreciate having the opportunity to work with, and of course Allan's words of confidence, "You will have to trust me." Surprisingly, I have learned when it comes tocolors, painting and printing are not at all alike, painting you see the actual color you want to use, printing you almost have no idea of the end result, unless you are a printer. However, I must say the outcome has inspired my aspiration. The print simply is a matter of colors, space, and movement by applying contrasting colors against each other creating a juxtaposition in concept, lines turn into rhythms and create their own shapes in space as moving objects.
